Women lack the necessary knowledge and tools to start a new business. In addition, they do not have professional and social skills.

Even after receiving training, it is not possible to start a business just because there is no capital.
The Shashwat Model
Economic Empowerment
Training is provided as needed to the SHGs.
SHGs are assisted to avail government as well as private sector grants.
After training, SHGs get their first opportunity in Shashwat projects.
Social Empowerment
SHGs are sent to manage outdoor exhibitions and sales stalls so that they can learn social and sales skills.
SHGs are assisted to avail government as well as private sector grants.
The organization engages SHGs in its social events and movements.

Work?
Transparency and Trust are core to the success of these groups. Local group leaders, who often emerge from the same system, understand these dynamics better. This self-sustenance culture leads groups to success in the long run.

Ongoing Projects
In 2018-2019, 55 women were trained in Mushroom Business by Shashwat. The Tribal Development Department has sanctioned a fund of Rs 18 lakh to 3 self-help groups in 2020.
Also, training has been given in poultry farming, goat rearing, running a flour mill/grocery shop, using Chilli Kandap machine, making Nachni and Varai food products.
