Dairy Farming
This project is important to stop the migration for employment and to provide a source of income throughout the year.
Challenges
Limited Options
Currently no major dairy company has branches in talukas. Therefore, farmers do not get much opportunity.
Lack of Knowledge
Farmers don’t have the knowledge or the guidance needed to increase the productivity.
Insufficient Resources
The number of dairy animals is limited. The resources needed to maintain their health are also not available.
Financial Constraints
Despite the desire, many farmers are not able to do this business due to financial difficulties.
The Shashwat Model
Phase - I
The organization acts as a link between milk producers and external dairies.
A milk collection center is set up at a place convenient to all the villages.
Training camps are arranged for farmers regarding the care and fodder of dairy animals.
Phase - II
Dairy products will be manufactured by setting up a processing plant.
These products will be sold by setting up stalls in outstations like Bhimashankar, Pune.
Company will support locals for procurement of cattle. Insurance of those animals will be taken by the organization.
The 'Amul'
Contribution
Shashwat has set up a contract with Amul Dairy. A milk collection center was set up at Borghar with the help of Amul. Amul also has made all arrangements for the chilling unit, computer, printer, generator at Borghar.

All farmers have a bank account opened and the total amount is credited directly to the account.
Last year the Shashwat arranged a few training camps to provide guidance to the farmers about animal feed, diseases, and health care.
Phase - II is still a dream, but it is a dream our team is working hard to achieve.
